An internal platform for quoting, production and operations at Davos Europe

From data typed manually in several places to one connected system, built around how the company actually works.

Before: information moved, but not through one system

In made-to-order companies, the problem goes beyond quoting. It starts when the same information is written, rewritten and checked again at every stage.

Davos Europe manufactures gates, fences, shading systems and glass enclosures, mostly made to order. For every project the information had to be followed both in the commercial stage and in the operational one, across several separate points.

The solution: a system built around the way Davos works

We did not start from an off-the-shelf product. We started from the real flow: how an enquiry arrives, how the quote is built, what moves on into production, and how orders and operations can be followed in one platform.

The result is an integrated internal platform where the modules work together and share the same data logic.

One system for commercial, operational and reporting activity.

    What changed

Information is no longer tracked through separate stages, but through a system that keeps the link between them.

An accepted quote moves straight into execution: bill of materials, production and field scheduling, with stock kept up to date.

    Reporting

The same data feeds reports across departments: lead conversion, top sales agents and best-selling products, average manufacturing time, daily output and productivity per employee.

How information travels through the platform

The system is not just there to store information. The point is that data entered at one stage can be used further on, without manual re-entry and without losing context.

    01 / 08·Lead

    1. Lead

The enquiry is captured once, with its context.

    2. Customer

The data becomes a customer record, without retyping.

    3. Quoting

Configuration uses the actual product catalogue and business rules.

    4. Quote

The document stays linked to customer and configuration.

    5. Contract

What was agreed stays visible in the same system.

    6. Production

Execution starts from data already validated.

    7. Installation / service

Field work links back to the original order.

    8. Reports

The same data gives management a clearer view of the business.

What changes when the stages work in the same system

The difference is in the link between stages. Information entered at one point of the process can be used further on, and the team sees more clearly what happened and what comes next.

    1. 01Before

      Separate files

      With the platform

      Centralised data

Relevant information stays attached to the same flow.

    2. 02Before

      Data rewritten

      With the platform

      Data reused further on

Information entered at one stage can continue into the next ones.

    3. 03Before

      Checks across sources

      With the platform

      Clearer status

Orders and stages can be followed in the same system.

    4. 04Before

      Fragmented information

      With the platform

      Shared history

Commercial and operational data stay linked to the same project.

    5. 05Before

      Quoting and operations apart

      With the platform

      Connected flow

What happens commercially can continue more clearly into production and operations.

The platform links commercial and operational information into a single flow.

The value is not the number of modules. It appears when information entered at one stage can be used further on and stays linked to the same project.

The same principle applies to other manufacturing companies

Davos Europe is one concrete example, but the problem is common in made-to-order companies: information rewritten, stages kept apart, quoting that is hard to follow and weak links between sales, production and operations.
